Things that would be good to know as we share the “Apply for Assistance” link with our friends, family and clients:
1). How are the funds distributed:
2). Does everyone who applies receive up to $1,000 as long as they are in the designated counties and have had property damage from Harvey?
3). What determines who gets funds and what determines the amount?
4). Are the funds for people regardless of whether they have flood insurance or not?
5). What is an approx time frame for receiving funds after applying?
6). I’m assuming there is a certain amount of funds available and may not be enough to go around to all who apply? Are they on a first-come basis?

    Thanks

    • Joyce, here are answers:
1). How are the funds distributed?
Checks are sent to applicants as they are approved.

2). Does everyone who applies receive up to $1,000 as long as they are in the designated counties and have had property damage from Harvey?
That will depend on the amount of damage received or the amount of displacement costs and the amount of funds we have to distribute.

3). What determines who gets funds and what determines the amount?
The board of directors of the Texas REALTORS® Relief Fund determines who receives assistance.

4). Are the funds for people regardless of whether they have flood insurance or not?
      Yes.

5). What is an approx time frame for receiving funds after applying?
Staff is working as quickly as possible to get money in hands of those in need. We estimate 1 -3 weeks.

6). Is there only a certain amount of funds available and maybe not enough for all who apply?
      Correct

      7.) Are they on a first-come basis?
      Yes

I have the same question. My son applied and wanted to check on the status. He has not received any email/communication since he applied on 9/1. Is there a way he can check on the status of his application?
